A good start to new team Manager ,Jason Long"s season. Our Minor Footballers were fixed to piay Setantas in the Minor Football League on last Sunday afternoon but, our opponents were unable to field and we received a walk-over. Next Sunday morning,26th February, our under-21 Footballers are in action in the opening round of the 2012 Championship when Nemo Rangers are our opponents at the Lough Field @ 11.30am.We are the reigning Champions of this competition ,but we have lost a sizeable number of last years panel and it is going to be extremely difficut to retain the title. However, we are still able to field a formidable team and it must be mentioned that this years under-21 squad were City under-16 Champions in 2007 and were narrowly beaten by Castlehaven in the County Final. Because of the under-21 game, our Junior"A" and "B" teams have no games this weekend. |
