The final score was; Brian Dillons, 2-12; Na Piarsaigh, 0-8; While never playing to their full potential, this was a satisfactory win for Brian Dillons, who have a first round Championship game with St. Michaels, coming up on next Saturday week, 11th May. Then ,he parted to the unmarked Mark Buckley at the edge of the square, who duly billowed the back of the Na Piarsaigh net with a rasping shot for a great goal. This score settled the Brian Dillons team and with some splendid points they had surged into 1-7 to 0-3 interval lead. Na Piarsaigh, now with wind advantage, notched the opening two points in the second- half to which Brian Dillons replied with two John Horgan pointed frees. Midway through the second half , Brian Dillons put the game beyond Na Piarsaigh when they scored their second goal. Shane Maher was hauled down in the square and a penalty was awarded. Regular penalty taker, Cillian Brosnan, who lined out in goal due to both "keepers in the panel, James Kirby and Tom Holohan, out injured, duly finished to the net from the penalty spot which put Brian Dillons ahead, 2-9 to 0-5..
