                          The Brian Dillons Junior (B) Football team bowed out of the 2012 City Division Junior (B) Football Championship ,at Ballinlough on Monday,23rd July,2012, when they were defeated by a powerful Passage outfit on a scoreline of 4-14 to 1-11.
                          Except  for a brief ten minute spell in the first half when they scored six consecutive points,to go into a four point lead,Brian Dillons were overpowered by a physically stronger fifteen. After going into the lead with a Tom Holohan point in the fourth minute, Brian Dillons were stunned when Passage scored their first goal after eight minutes play.It was obvious,at this early stage, that the Brian Dillons defence were in trouble with the huge Passage forwards. Maurice Carey added a point for Brian Dillons in the ninth minute after good assistance from the diminutive Dave O"Leary to which Passage replied with a similar score. Then ,the ten minute spell of complete dominance by Brian Dillons followed with the forwards displaying a brand of football which mesmerised the Passage defence which resulted in points coming from Mark Buckley (2), Dave O"Leary,(2),Maurice Carey and James Horgan. After twenty minutes of play,Brian Dillons were leading by 0-8 to 1-1 and Passage looked in trouble at this stage. However, they gained a grip at mid-field and it was not long before their forwards,now with a plentiful supply of the ball,added a further 2-3 in the last ten minutes of the first-half. The half-time score read; Brian Dillons.0-8;Passage,3-4.
                       The second -half saw this excellent Passage side continue to dominate and when they scored their fourth goal in the thirty third minute,the game was as good as over as Brian Dillons had a mountain to climb at this stage. Credit must go to the Brian Dillons side,however,
 for their battling qualities in this half when it was clear they were chasing a lost cause. They were rewarded for their efforts with points from Stuart Crichton, the excellent Mark Buckley and James Horgan with Tom Holohan scoring a goal late on. We wish the Passage team the best of luck in the remaining rounds of this Championship.
                   The Brian Dillons scorers were;Tom Holohan,1-1;Mark Buckley,0-3; Maurice Carey,0-2; Dave O"Leary,0-2; James Horgan 0-2 (frees) and Stuart Crichton,0-1 (free);
