                The Brian Dillons Minor Hurlers and Bride Rovers served up a thrilling hours hurling in the Rebel Og County Minor Hurling League, at the Tank Field, on Wednesday evening, 15th May, 2013 ,which ended in a ,1-16 to 1-12, victory for the East Cork side.
               This was a well contested game from start to finish with some splendid hurling from both sides. Bride Rovers opened promisingly and they had raced into a 1-5 to nil lead after 20 minutes play and it seemed that Brian Dillons, who were still without the injured Darren McGrath and exam tied Adam Cotter were in for drubbing. However, in the closing ten minutes of the first half ,  Brian Dillons ,encouraged by the brilliance of goalkeeper, Mark Kelly, centre -half-back,Keith McCormick, mid-fielder, Andrew White and half-forward, Eric O"Donoghue, got to grips with the game and at half -time they only trailed by four points, 1-5 to 0-4.
          An early second half goal by full-forward, Kieran Delaney, was just the tonic Brian Dillons needed and the scene was set for an enthralling finish. Some excellent points were exchanged by both sides and with ten minutes remaining it was all square at 1-9 each. Bride Rovers edged ahead again but were pegged back to 1-12 each with just five minutes remaining. In the closing minutes the Brian Dillons players who performed so heroically in the second half, seemed to run out of steam which allowed Bride Rovers strike over the four match winning points. Still, a most commendable performance by the understrength Brian Dillons team who can look forward to the forthcoming Championship with confidence.  Scorers for Brian Dillons were; Kieran Delaney,1-3; Eric O"Donoghue,0-5 (0-4 frees); Keith McCormick, 0-3 (0-1 free );and Brian Manning, 0-1;
