Minor Footballers Are Too Strong For Shamrocks in League.

                    Already through to the final, in which they will play Kilnamartra, the Brian Dillons Minor Footballers were too strong for a game Shamrocks side in the last ordinary round of the Rebel Og County Minor Football League , which was played in Pairc Diolunaigh on Thursday night, 3rd October,2013. The final score was; Brian Dillons, 5-9; Shamrocks, 3-3.
                Forced to field without a number of their prominent players, the Brian Dillons management gave some of the fringe players an opportunity to impress in this game. Although well beaten in the end, Shamrocks battled well throughout  and ,in fact, took a shock lead in less than a minute when they scored the opening goal However, the lead was shortlived as Brian Dillons levelled when John Kenny, who had a terrific game, beat the Shamrocks "keeper with a lobbing shot, after three minutes. At half-time, Brian Dillons were leading by 4-3 to 1-2 with the other goals coming from Kieran Delaney, John Kenny, his second, and Mark Kelly. Brian Dillons continued to dominate the proceedings in the second half with a string of well-taken points and another goal from Mark Kelly. Shamrocks again battled bravely in this half, breaching the reliable Brian Dillons, in which Mark Sheedy, Michael Feehan and Ryan Burns excelled, for two goals, one from a penalty.
