, The Brian Dillons Junior (B) Hurling team, winners of the 2012 City Division Junior (2) Hurling League title, moved a step closer to the knock out stages of the 2013 competition, with a thrilling,2-16 to 3-12, victory over Douglas, on Saturday evening, 31st,August,2013, at the Douglas venue. In a game which had plenty of exciting passages, Brian Dillons had a magical last ten minutes of the first half ,in which they scored 1-4 without reply, to turn a 1-6 to 0-4 deficit into a 1-8 to 1-6 interval lead. Seanie O"Dwyer was the Brian Dillons goalscorer after twenty one minutes. Brian Dillons continued to dominate the opening ten minutes of the second half and with some splendid points ,plus a second goal from Seanie O"Dwyer, they raced into a 2-14 to 1-7 lead and seemed to have the League points secure. However, Douglas had other ideas and when they scored their second goal, after eleven minutes of the second half, they really put it up to Brian Dillons for the remainder of the game. With three minutes remaining in the game, Douglas had reduced the Brian Dillons lead to just four points, 2-16 to 2-12. In a tense closing three minues, Douglas had their third goal which left them trailing by the minimum of margins. However, Brian Dillons,with defenders, Darren McGrath, James Varian and substitute, Dave Cremin in outstanding form, held on for an exciting victory.
