The Brian Dillons Junior (2) Hurling team advanced to the semi-final of the Craobh Ruadh Cup with a 0-18 to 0-9 victory over Mayfield ,at Pairc Diolunaigh on Wednesday evening,31st October,2012. Leading at the end of a rather low scoring first half by 0-7 to 0-4, the Brian Dillons team proceeded to play some sparkling hurling in the opening quarter of the second half and, with some splendid scores, they surged into a 0-15 to 0-5 lead. Mayfield did manage to reduce the deficit with four points in a row to leave the score 0-15 to 0-9, in Brian Dillons favour,as the game entered its final five minutes. However, that was the closest Mayfield got as Brian Dillons tacked on three further points to run out comfortable winners. Minor players Stephen Kearney, James O"Shea and Darren McGrath performed impressively in the Brian Dillons defence with all the starting forwards contributing to the final tally of 0-18.
