Junior (B) Footballers suffer first League defeat of the season.

                    The Brian Dillons second string suffered their first defeat in the City Division Junior (2) Football League when they lost to Rathpeacon, 1-8 to 0-7, on Tuesday ,17th April 2012, at Pairc Diolunaigh. This game was a dour struggle throughout which was played in miserable weather conditions of cold,wind and torrential rain.
                     Rathpeacon ,with wind advantage in the opening half, raced into an interval lead of 0-7 to 0-3. The second half saw the Brian Dillons side eat into the Rathpeacon lead although scoring proved to be extremely difficult due,mainly, to the worsening weather conditions.
 With ten minutes remaining, Brian Dillons had narrowed the gap to  two points ,0-6 to 0-8. However, Rathpeacon struck a killer blow when they goaled with just five minutes remaining. In the remaining minutes the Brian Dillons attacked strongly in  an effort to save the game but, the Rathpeacon defence stood firm and they secured the League points on 1-8 to 0-7 scoreline.
