The Brian Dillons Junior (B) Footballers travelled to Togher on Tuesday, 8th October,2013, knowing that nothing but a victory over  St.Finbarrs would keep their interest in this years competition alive.  Fielding a reasonable team, without any Minors who were in Hurling action on the same evening, they delivered in style, winning on a 1-10 to 1-8 scoreline, which moves them into joint fourth spot with St.Finbarrs in the League table. Next Saturday nights clash with St.Nicks, at Pairc Diolunaigh, now has assumed an added importance about it.
Tuesdays game was a closely contested encounter with the issue in doubt up to the final whistle. Brian Dillons took a hold of the game ,after twenty two minutes of the first half, when after a splendid inter passing movement involving Barry Triggs, Seanie O"Dwyer and Dave Coughlan  ended with midfielder,Danny Murphy billowing the back of the net for a great goal.  Seanie O"Dwyer, from a free, and Kevin Allen both added points which pushed Brian Dillons ahead, 1-5 to 0-4, with three minutes left in the opening half. However, the "Barrs were right back in the game when, from the kickout after Kevin Allens point, they worked the ball upfield and finished to the net which left the minimum between the sides at the interval..
Two early second half points saw St.Finbarrs take the lead and Brian Dillons looked in trouble. However, the "Barrs were not to score again until injury time due mainly to great defending by the Brian Dillons backs, particularly Luke O"Connell, Kevin Coughlan and Andrew Murphy. The introduction of substitutes Michael Colohan and Stephen Coughlan also helped enormously, in this Brian Dillons victory while, the experienced Tom Triggs, just back from Australia, , was most effective when moved to the middle of the field in the closing quarter of the game. Points from Michael Colohan (two), Barry Triggs, Danny Murphy and Dave Coughlan left Brian Dillons leading by four, 1-10 to 1-6, at the end of normal time and in the two minutes of additional time ,allowed by the referee, the "Barrs added to two points which left the full-time score reading; Brian Dillons, 1-10; St.Finbarrs, 1-8.  Scorers for Brian Dillons were;  Danny Murphy, 1-1; Kevin Allen, 0-2; Seanie O"Dwyer, 0-2 (frees); Dave Coughlan, 0-2; and Michael Colohan 0-2 (0-1 free.).
