               Just two nights after they had scored an exciting win over Ballyphehane, the Brian Dillons Junior (B) Football team went under to an impressive Rathpeacon side, in the City Division Junior (2) Football League, which was played in Pairc Diolunaigh,on Friday evening, 2nd May, 2014.  The final score was; Brian Dillons (B),1-5; Rathpeacon, 1-12;
               Playing a brand of football which had Brian Dillons on the backfoot, throughout the opening half, Rathpeacon  had built up an interval lead of 1-8 to 0-1 , with the Brian Dillons sole point coming from Seanie O"Dwyer"s penalty kick, which was pushed over by the Rathpeacon "keeper.. Brian Dillons did much better in the second half with substitutes, Kevin Varian, Brian Manning and Kevin Coughlan making a huge difference to the team. A goal from Kevin Varian, in the seventh minute of the second half, had reduced the arrears to six points, 1-9 to 1-3, and Brian Dillons looked to be back in the game. However, the ability that Rathpeacon had of gaining possession from kickouts, prevented the Brian Dillons side from getting any closer. Still, the efforts of the Brian Dillons players, for not collapsing completely in the second half ,when they actually outscored their opponents by 1-4 to 0-4, are to be applauded. Scorers for Brian Dillons were;Michael Colohan, 0-3 (0-1 "45);  Kevin Varian , 1-0 ;Seanie O"Dwyer, 0-1 (penalty kick); and Mark Walsh, 0-1 ;   The Brian Dillons team lined out as follows; John Shek; Stephen Coughlan; Paul Horgan; Ciarain Kelleher; Eoin Hennessy; Tom Harrington; Mark Walsh; Barry Triggs; Kevin Allen; Dave O"Donoghue; Tommy Boland; Michael Colohan; Michael Peters; Ken McCarthy; and Seanie O"Dwyer; Subs; (all second half ); Kevin Varian for Kevin Allen; Kevin Coughlan for Seanie O"Dwyer (injured); Brian Manning for Dave O"Donoghue; Stephen Kearney for Ciarain Kelleher;
