The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers stretched their lead at the top of the City Division Junior (1) Hurling League table when they recorded a comprehensive, 2-21 to 0-6, victory over Whitechurch, at Whitechurch on last Sunday morning, 30th June,2013.
Team Manager, Kieran O"Mahony and his selectors, were in experimental mood for this game, making five changes from the side which defeated St. Finbarrs two days earlier. Hurling was difficult out in Whitechurch on Sunday morning, though, with a blustery breeze, persistent drizzle and a bumpy pitch.  However, Brian Dillons stamped their authority on the proceedings right from the throw-in and even though, they were playing against the breeze in the opening half. they cruised to a 1-13 to 0-3 interval lead with the goal coming from Philip O"Brien after he had received a peach of a pass from Cillian Brosnan.
.     The second half followed a similar pattern to the opening half hour with Brian Dillons in total control, with their second goal coming in the first minute with midfielder, Cian McCarthy ,finishing to the net after a great run from the centre of the park. A flurry of points  followed which allowed Kieran O"Mahony empty his bench, and the Brian Dillons side were easy winners at the finish. Scorers for Brian Dillons were; Philip O"Brien, 1-5; Tomas Lawrence, 0-6; Cillian Brosnan, 0-5 (0-1free, 0-1 "65 );Cian McCarthy,1-1; Mark Buckley,0-2; Niall O"Sullivan and Maurice Carey, 0-1 each.
