The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers continued their unbeaten run in the 2012 City Division Junior (1) Hurling League with a convincing, 4-14 to 3-5, victory over Passage which was played in Manning Park,Passage on Saturday evening,2nd June,2012. Torrential rain fell throughout this game but, however, it did not prevent the Brian Dillons team,who were short several regulars,from producing an impressive performance. Recovering from a disastrous start,in which they were 2-1 to nil down after five minutes play, Brian Dillons gradually took control of the game and after 20 minutes of play they had levelled the game,1-4 to 2-1. Passage struck another body blow when they notched their third goal and then added another point to put them four points clear as the half-time break approached. However, Brian Dillons finished the first-half in impressive style and, with a string of well-taken points, they had levelled matters,once again,to leave the half-time score read, Brian Dillons,1-8; Passage,3-2. With the heavy rain continuing to fall unabated,throughout the second half, the Brian Dillons side dominated the proceedings with their defence tightening up considerably on their first half performance and their midfielders and forwards finding the target at regular intervals. At the finish it was 4-14 to 3-5 ,in Brian Dillons favour which puts them top of the League Table with five wins from five games played. Next up is another League game against Bishopstown ,in Pairc Diolunaigh,on next Thursday evening, 7th June,with a 7.30 pm throw-in.
