Still reeling from the previous Saturday nights shock defeat by Nemo Rangers in the Championship semi-final, the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers got back to winning ways with an easy, 9-23 to 5-7, victory over Bishopstown in an extraordinary high scoring City Division Junior (1) Hurling League game, which was played in Pairc Diolunaigh on Tuesday evening, 27th August, 2013. Showing four changes in personnel from the Championship semi-final, Brian Dillons were never in any sort of difficulty in this game and the League points were more or less secured at half-time when they led by 4-12 to 0-2, with the first half goals coming from Dave Couglan (two), Cian McCarthy and Cillian Brosnan.. The second half was played in a challenge game mode with plenty of goals, five for each side, as the man marking was non-existant. Six goals were scored in the last ten minutes of the game, three for each side, as the forwards were given plenty of space with the game more or less over as a contest. Brian Dillons had their second -half goals from Cillian Brosnan (two), John Noonan, Kevin Coughlan and Dave Coughlan. This victory leaves Brian Dillons six points clear at the top of the League table, with ten wins from eleven games played, and in with an excellent chance of qualifying for the County League as the City Division representatives..
