                                  After a most extraordinary game, the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers were caught in the run-in when St.Finbarrs, after scoring the levelling polnt at the end of normal time, kicked the two match winning points in the three additional minutes, allowed by the referee, to snatch victory in the opening game of the 2014 City Division Junior (1) Football League , which was played out in Togher,on Sunday morning,16th February,2014.  The final score was; Brian Dillons, 2-5;  St.Finbarrs, 1-10;
                                 Defending League champions, Brian Dillons, began this game in impressive style and at the end of the first quarter they had raced into a 2-3 to nil, thanks to a brace of goals from full-forward, Cillian Brosnan. A further point by Shane Maher, increased the Brian Dillons lead before the "Barrs had their opening point in the 23rd minute . Brian Dillons, fielding only five players that started in last Octobers Championship final replay, were on top ,all over the field, and were not flattered by their 2-5 to 0-2 interval lead.  Even though they had to face the stiff breeze in the second half, you could not see Brian Dillons losing this game. The opening twelve minutes of the second half remained scoreless and, one minute later, the "Barrs pointed for the first score of the half and ,then, in a five minute spell they added a further 1-4 which had them trailing by just one point, 1-7 to 2-5, with nine minutes remaining. Brian Dillons were finding it difficult to win any kickouts ,at this stage, but, seemed to have weathered the storm when they still led by a point ,as the game entered the final minute of regulation time. In an attacking position, Brian Dillons carelessly surrendered possession from which the "Barrs worked upfield to score the equalising point. Three minutes of additional time were played and the "Barrs stole victory with two late points after  a most extraordinary game. Scorers for Brian Dillons (all in the first half) were; Cillian Brosnan, 2-1; Shane Maher, 0-2; and Mark Buckley,0-2;    The Junior (2) Football League game, Brian Dillons (B) .v. Douglas (B), was postponed because of unplayable ground conditions ,in the Tank Field.
