Junior (A) Footballers Impress in League win over Passage.

                    The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers, who face St.Michaels in the Championship on next Saturday night, displayed impressive form when disposing of the challenge of Passage ,in the City Division Junior (1) Football League, which was played in Pairc Diolunaigh on Saturday evening, 7th June, 2014. The final score was; Brian Dillons, 2-15; Passage, 0-8;
                   Passage played with the advantage of a stiff breeze in the opening half  but, could only muster a total of four points, due to the outstanding defensive performance of the Brian Dillons backline. A goal ,from the penalty spot, scored by Cillian Brosnan after eleven minutes play, helped Brian Dillons to a 1-3 to 0-4 interval lead. With the wind to their backs, in the second half, Brian Dillons began to dominate proceedings and proceeded to race into a lead of 1-9 to 0-7, after 45 minutes play. Two minutes later, Cillian Brosnan tucked away his second penalty kick of the evening, and the game was as good as over at that stage. Team boss, Alan Whelan, proceeded to empty the bench for the closing thirteen minutes in which Brian Dillons outscored their opponents by six points to one.
