                            The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers showed no ill-effects from their recent City Championship final defeat to St.Finbarrs ,when they easily overcame the challenge of Delanys in the McSwiney Cup competition, which was played out in Pairc Diolunaigh , on Wednesday evening, 30th October, 2013. It was a massive performance by Brian Dillons , after conceding a goal in the first minute, from the penalty spot and falling 1-1 to nil behind after three minutes. Refusing to be upset by these scores, Brian Dillons settled down to play a splendid brand of football, which mesmerised Delanys, who only managed to score a paltry two points for the remainder of the game. A brilliant goal by Cillian Brosnan, after eleven minutes, had the teams on level terms and with a further four points , Brian Dillons were leading, 1-5 to 1-2, at the interval.
                         The second half saw Brian Dillons, dominant in all parts of the field ,completely outclass Delanys with goals from Cillian and Darragh Brosnan easing them into a 2-13 to 1-2 lead after twenty minutes.  Delanys had their solitary second half score when they pointed , after twenty six minutes, but, Brian Dillons had the final two points , before the Referee sounded the full time whistle to end the agony for the Dublin Hill side. Brian Dillons had good performers in every position of the field with Dylan O"Donoghue ,Edmund Hussey, Cian McCarthy and Niall Fahy being the best of the defenders. The constant running of midfielders, Tomas Lawrence and Darragh Brosnan, caused Delanys all sort of problems with Chris Daly, playing as a third midfielder, also putting in a most effective hour. Cillian Brosnan was in devastating form ,at full forward, notching 2-1 from play, with John Noonan doing a tremendous amount of good work also. Minor player, Darren McGrath and Kevin Coughlan also, got through an amount of good football in the attack. Scorers for Brian Dillons were; Cillian Brosnan,2-4 (0-2 "45s, 0-1 free ); Darragh Brosnan,1-1; Tomas Lawrence,0-3; Dylan O"Donoghue,0-1; Mark Walsh,0-1; Niall Fahy,0-1; John Noonan,0-1; Darren McGrath,0-1; Kevin Coughlan,0-1; and Chris Daly,0-1;
