Playing conditions were not conducive to stylish hurling with the Tank Field surface cutting up badly after overnight rain.Our side got off to a great start when Tomas Lawrence netted after three minutes of play.  At half -time we were leading by 1-6 to 1-4. The second - half turned into a real slog as ground conditions deteriorated. We led all the way and with time almost up we were ahead by 1-14 to 1-8. A late Blackrock goal closed the scoring .
