The (B) Hurlers bowed out of the City Division Championship on Sunday last the 14th of June as they were beaten by St.Vincents on a scoreline of 3-09 to 0-11. In what was a very disappointing display there can be no arguing the result of this one as the Vincents players wanted it more. In an opening half that Dillons dominated for large sections they somehow went in trailing at half time 0-06 to 1-05. This may have signaled what was to come in the second half as again Dillons dominated and took the lead at 0-10 to 1-05, but somehow couldn't forge ahead at this point and instead hit six consecutive wides before Vincents struck for 2 quick goals all but sealing the game for them. The closing stages saw the Dillons team attempt to find the goals they needed however promising positions were lost due to indiscipline and the challenge faded away Scorers: C Lynch, 0-5 (0-1f); K Varian, 0-3; A Cotter and D O'Donoghue, 0-1; D Coughlan 0-1 f Team: 1.
