Brian Dillons third choice Junior Football team were narrowly defeated by Nemo Rangers "C" on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-12 in the City Division Junior "C" Football Championship ,which was played at Nemos home ground, Trabeg, on Friday, 15th July,2011.

It was cruel luck on our team who, after leading for most of the second half, saw the game snatched from their grasp when Nemo scored two late points with the winning score coming one minute into injury time. Brian Dillons raced into a 0-3 to 0-1 after ten minutes play with our scores coming Andrew Murphy,Dave O Leary and Andrew Daly. However, disaster struck in the 15th minute when a high lobbing ball led to a mis-understanding between Stephen Kearney and our goalkeeper,Jason Kelly, and ended upin the net for a most fortuitous goal for Nemo. We recovered from this setback with further points from Dave O Leary and two from Dave O Donoghue which had the teams level,0-6 to 1-3 at half-time.

The introduction of the experienced Paul Triggs improved our teams chances in the second half and we went ahead again when Triggs excellently pointed a 45.Further points from Dave O Leary,Dave O Donoghue,William Murphy,Eamonn McCarthy and Andrew Daly had us leading by 0-12 to 1-7 with just three minutes of normal time remaining. Three consecutive points from Nemo ,however, gave them a narrow victory which puts them into the semi-final of the Championship, while our side have the semi-finals of both the J.F.3 League and Florry McCarthy Cup to look forward to.
