The Brian Dillons Minor players had their second win, within a week, when the Football team, following the hurlers victory over Kinsale on the previous Thursday evening, proved way too strong for Ballyphehane in the Rebel Og County Minor Football League, which was played in The Green (Ballyphehane) ,on Tuesday evening, 15th April, 2014. The final score was, Brian Dillons, 2-14; Ballyphehane,0-4 Brian Dillons took control of this game from the throw-in and at the end of the opening quarter, they built up a lead of 0-6 to nil. The odd Ballyphehane attack was efficiently repulsed by the solid Brian Dillons defence with the result that the southsiders had to wait until the twentieth minute for their opening point. At half-time, Brian Dillons were leading by 0-9 to 0-2. The second half of the game saw no change in the pattern with Brian Dillons dominating in all sectors, and they put the game well out of Ballyphehane"s reach with two splendid goals, from Eric O"Donoughue and Gavin Walsh, in the opening ten minutes.. The remainder of the game ran it"s inevitable course with Brian Dillons emerging comfortable winners on a 2-14 to 0-4 scoreline.
