                                       The curtain finally came down on the hurling season,out in chilly Pairc Diolunaigh, on Friday,7th December,2012, when the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers captured their second trophy of the year with a 0-18 to 1-10 victory over Na Piarsaigh in the McCurtain Cup final. Having already being crowned City Division Champions in September, this latest triumph concluded what has been a fabulous season for the Brian Dillons team, which saw them unluckily losing the County Championship final to Kildorrery, who now are the Munster Junior (A) Hurling Champions.
                                       Brian Dillons were never behind in this latest win ,in a game which produced a high standard of hurling ,considering the difficult ground conditions. Playing with the advantage of a bitterly cold breeze in the opening half, they led 0-11 to 0-7 at the interval. Brian Dillons continued to impress in the second half and, with some more splendid points, they held a comfortable 0-17 to 0-10 lead with just seven minutes remaining in the game.  However, Na Piarsaigh goaled in the twenty sixth minute, which led to some anxious moments for the Brian Dillons supporters. They did not need to worry, however, as the brilliant Brian Dillons defence held the Na Piarsaigh forwards scoreless for the remainder of the game, and another fine point by top scorer, John Horgan, in the final minute of the game eased Brian Dillons into a five point winning margin.
                                    Once again, the Brian Dillons defence were well in command in this game with goalkeeper, Tom Triggs, a splendid captain, Michael Noonan and Darragh Brosnan particularly impressive.  The return of Tomas Lawrence, John Horgan and Cian McCarthy, who missed the recent League semi-final defeat to the same opponents, made a huge difference in this game  while Daniel McCormick gave his usual spirited performance, both at midfield where he scored a point, in the first half ,and in his customary right half back position,in the second half.
                                  Scorers for Brian Dillons were; John Horgan,0-12 (0-10 frees); Cian McCarthy, 0-2; Tomas Lawrence, 0-1; Daniel McCormick,0-1; Cillian Brosnan,0-1; and Kevin Coughlan ,0-1.
                                  The Brian Dillons team lined out as follows; (1) Tom Triggs;(2) Niall Fahy; (3) Danny Murphy; (4) Michael Noonan; (5) Dylan O"Donoghue; (6) Mark White; (7) Darragh Brosnan;
(8) Tomas Lawrence; (9) Daniel McCormick; (10) Cian McCarthy; (11) Cillian Brosnan; (12) John Horgan; (13) John Noonan; (14) Keith McCormick; (15) Kevin Coughlan;  Subs; Brian Barrett for Dylan O"Donoghue (half-time); Andrew Murphy for John Noonan (54 mins.); Shane Maher for Mark White ,injured ( 56 mins.)
