There are three of Brian Dillons teams in action this weekend with Football League games fixed for Saturday, 22nd February, 2014 ,and Sunday, 23rd February,2014. First into action are the clubs under-16 Footballers who have Donoughmore as visitors to the Tank Field on Saturday afternoon, in the Rebel Og County under-16 Football League. This game is timed for 2.00pm and the Brian Dillons backroom team of Michael Barry, Dave Daly and Derek McDonnell will be hoping for a full turnout of players, so that we can get off to a winning start in this competition. Both of the Brian Dillons Junior Football teams are in City Division Junior Football League action on Sunday, 23rd February, 2014. In the morning game, Brian Dillons (A) Football side face Passage, in the Tank Field, with the throw-in at 11.30am. After simply throwing away the two points in last Sundays game, when they surrendered a nine point interval lead to lose by two points, Brian Dillons cannot afford to lose again on Sunday, as their hopes of retaining the League title would be greatly diminished. The team are without several players, due to injury, at the moment and both Tomas Lawrence and Darragh Brosnan are unavailable due to their involvement with CIT in the forthcoming Fitzgibbon Cup semi-finals , in which we wish them the best of luck. For the third weekend in a row, the Brian Dillons (B) Footballers will be hoping to get their League campaign up and running, after the previous two games, on the last two weekends were postponed due to unplayable pitches. On next Sunday afternoon, they travel out the road to Mayfield, to take on the home side in the City Division Junior (2) Football League which has a 3.00pm throw-in. |
