Second Attempt to get the 2014 City Div. Football Leagues Underway this Weekend.

                                   The City Division Board will make their second attempt to get the 2014 Junior Football Leagues started this coming weekend after last weekends games were cancelled because of the terrible weather conditions that prevailed.  It is hoped that the present spell of bad weather will have improved by the weekend and that all the games fixed will be played.  Both of Brian Dillons Junior Football teams are in action on this coming Sunday, 16th February, 2014. First into action are our Junior (A) team ,who travel to Togher on Sunday morning , where they will face St.Finbarrs in the openiing round of the Junior (1) Football League, beginning at 11.30am.  Last season, these teams met on three occasions and served up three thrilling encounters. In the City Championship final, the teams finished level at the first attempt with the "Barrs edging the re-play with a three point winning margin.  However, Brian Dillons turned the tables on their Southside rivals a few weeks later, when they recorded a thrilling,0-11 to 1-7, victory in the Junior (1) Football League final, to become City League Champions for the first time since 2004.  Sunday mornings encounter has all the ingredients of another exciting hours football.   On Sunday afternoon, our Junior (B) Football squad have a home assignment, in the Tank Field, with Douglas providing the opposition , beginning at 2.00pm.
