Congratulations to the Brian Dillons Minor Football team on winning the Rebel Og  (East Division) County Minor 12-a-side Football League title for 2013. They were crowned Champions after coming through their campaign of eight games with a 100% record.  This achievement is all the more remarkable when, at the beginning of the season, it seemed that we would not have sufficient numbers to field a team in this grade and it would have been the first time, in the history of our club, that we were unable to field in the Minor grade.  Poor management, at Juvenile level, led to several players losing interest and were lost to the club. However, Donal Lyons took command at the start of the season and he succeeded in persuading some of the "lost" players back playing and with a good management team of Billy Cashman, Jamesey Corcoran, Keith Burns and Willie Murphy, they had a really good season,  culminating in capturing the Football League title.   In the Football Championship , they lost to Clondrohid, after a replay, at the quarter-final stage , while they enjoyed a decent season in Hurling, also. They reached the semi-final of the Hurling Championship, only to lose to Tracton  and in the League semi-final, they went under to Clondrohid, when they were without one of their best hurlers, Keith McCormick.  Congratulations, once again, to the players and to Donal Lyons and his selectors for their great work throughout the season.
