The final game of the 2012 season takes place on tomorrow, Sunday morning, 16th December, when the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers travel to Bishopstown to take on the homesters in the quarter -final of the McSwiney Cup with an 11.30 am throw-in. Hard to believe but, this will be the first game for our Junior (A) Footballers since 17th September., when we went under to St. Finbarrs in the semi-final of the City Division Championship, as all the playing activity was devoted to our Junior (A) Hurlers in their County Championship campaign as well as McCurtain Cup, County and City League competitions. Also, our Junior (B) Hurlers were involved in the closing stages of the Junior (2) Hurling League and Craobh Ruadh Cup competitions, in which they were successful in both. In the opening round of the McSwiney Cup, which was played way back in early August, our side recorded an impressive, 3-13 to 0-14,victory over St.Vincents. We will be hoping for a repeat performance against Bishopstown on tomorrow morning but, because of the long football inactivity, it will not be easy.. |
