The Brian Dillons Junior (B) Hurlers face Rathpeacon in the semi-final of the 2012 City Division Junior (B) Hurling Championship on Sunday morning next, 19th August ,in Ballinlough, with an 11.00am throw-in. Brian Dillons had impressive victories over Douglas and Nemo Rangers, respectively, in the previous rounds of this Championship and are hopeful of another scalp on Sunday. However, they will be up against much stiffer opposition ,on this occasion,as Rathpeacon have had a most impressive run of victories recently when reaching the final of the County Junior (B) Hurling Championship. Also, the Brian Dillons side could be hampered by their lack of hurling activity as their last game was the Championship victory over Nemo Rangers which was played way back on the 6th of July. Still, Manager, Anthony O"Sullivan,is quietly confident that his charges will rise to the occasion by springing a surprise on Sunday morning. He will point out that his side recorded a 1-17 to 1-11 victory over Rathpeacon in a League game back in April and even though the personnel of both teams will be much changed on Sunday, the Brian Dillons side will be confident of repeating that win. It is hoped that the Brian Dillons supporters will turn out in strength to support our second string in Sunday mornings game and the best of luck is extended to the team in their quest to reach the final of this Championship for the first time since 1998. |
