Our second -string Junior Hurling team are in Championship action this weekend when they face Douglas in the opening round of the City Division Junior (B) Hurling Championship on Saturday evening, 23rd June, in Ballinlough with the throw-in at the earlier time of 6.00pm. We are capable of fielding a strong team in this grade but, unfortunatly,we will be deprived of the services of several of the panel due to John Colohan"s "stag" party ,in Liverpool and injury rules out both Keith Burns and Ben Wharton. However, we are still in a position to field a formidable side and a thrilling game should be witnessed on Saturday evening. In the League encounter between the same sides ,back in late March, the points were shared with the full-time score reading, Brian Dillons,1-16; Douglas,3-10,after a thrilling hours hurling. We will be hoping to come out on top on Saturday, thus, completing an excellent week for the Club, with our Junior(A) team winning their opening Championship encounter on last Tuesday. We wish the best of luck to Team Manager, Anthony O*Sullivan and his team and hopefully, there will be a good Brian Dillons support out in Ballinlough on Saturday evening. |
