Its Championship time for the Brian Dillons second and third strings, with both in action in the forthcoming days. First into action will be the Brian Dillons (B) Junior Football team who will be opposed by Lough Rovers in the opening round of the City Division Junior (B) Football Championship, at the Ballinlough venue, on Saturday evening, 15th June,2013, which has an early 6.15pm throw-in. The Brian Dillons team will have to be at their best if they are to overcome this difficult obstacle as their opponents, Lough Rovers, are going well lately in the County (B) Championship.  Brian Dillons form in the Junior (2) Football League has been mixed with four victories an two defeats. They began the competition in impressive style with four straight wins over Douglas,Bishopstown, Ballinure and Saturdays opponents, Lough Rovers before slipping up with defeats to Nemo Rangers and Rathpeacon in their last two outings. In the League victory over Lough Rovers ,which was played in the Lough Field,on 10th April,2013, Brian Dillons recorded a narrow, 1-14 to 2-9 ,victory after trailing, 0-1 to 1-6, at the interval.  A repeat of their second half performance on that occasion will have to be produced for the full hour, on Saturday night, if the Brian Dillons side are to advance in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.
The Brian Dillons third Junior Football squad face Bishopstown in the City Division Junior (C) Football Championship, at Ballinlough, on Monday evening next, 17th June,2013, with a 7.30pm start. Brian Dillons reached the final of this Championship last season only to lose to a strong Ballinure combination. Several of the Brian Dillons team have been promoted to the clubs Junior (A) and (B) squads and subsequently ,may not be as strong as last years selection. The overall strength of the team will depend on how many players will be used by the clubs (B) team on Saturday night   However, there are several good players available to line out on Monday evening, and, as always, a spirited performance can be expected from the Brian Dillons side..
