Reigning City Division Junior (A) Hurling Champions, Brian Dillons, set out in defence of their title when they meet Douglas in the opening round of this years competition ,on Tuesday evening, 4th June, 2013, at Ballinlough with a 7.15pm throw-in. This will be a tricky obstacle for Brian Dillons to surmount as Douglas are always capable of fielding a strong side, as they proved in last seasons quarter final when Brian Dillons were pushed all the way in their, 1-15 to 1-13, victory. Brian Dillons are going well in this years League with victories over Delanys, Glen Rovers, Passage, St.Vincents and Whites Cross and suffering just one defeat to Na Piarsaigh. In that particular game , Brian Dillons were without the injured Cillian Brosnan and Cian McCarthy while Daniel and Keith McCormick were also unavailable while to compound matters, Darragh Brosnan has to leave the field, early in the game, with a serious finger injury. For the Championship game ,with Douglas, the two Brosnans are definitely out injured while they are serious doubts about Cian McCarthy and Daniel McCormick ,who are both nursing injuries. Victory over Douglas is now going to be extremely difficult and only a super effort from the players, who are selected, will suffice |
