posted 13 Nov 2013, 14:18 by Willie Horgan
The coming weekend sees two Brian Dillons teams contest finals in their respective League competitions. Firstly, on next Saturday afternoon, 16th November, 2013, the Brian Dillons Minor Footballers, recent winners of the Rebel Og (Eastern Division) Minor Football League, meet Goleen, the Western Division winners, in the County final. This game will be played, under lights, at Clonakilty with a 4.30pm throw-in.   It is hoped that as many Brian Dillons people as possible , will make the journey to Clonakilty on Saturday , to cheer on the team as they attempt to cap what has proved to be a most rewarding season.
On next Sunday morning, 17th November, 2013, the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers meet Blackrock in the City Division Junior (1) Hurling League final, out In Ballinlough at 11.30am. This game has all the ingredients for a thrilling encounter as the City Champions of 2012 and 2013 come face to face for the first time this season.  Brian Dillons qualified for the County League final with a thrilling victory over Freemount last Saturday night ,out in Mourneabbey and it is hoped that they can re-capture the City title on Sunday morning, for the first time since 2010, when they completed three back to back triumphs in this competition.
Best wishes are extended to both Brian Dillon teams and mentors  for these games and we hope to see great support at both.
