The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers will attempt to capture the City Division Junior (1) Football League title, which they last won in 2004, when they meet their Championship final conquerors, St.Finbarrs, out in Pairc Diolunaigh on tomorrow, Friday (evening), 22nd November, 2013, @ 7.30pm. With the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers capturing the City Division Junior (1) Hurling League title ,last Sunday, the club has a chance to complete a unique League double, if the footballers are successful against the "Barrs. It took two games to decide the Championship final with the "Barrs, eventually, winning by 1-13 to 1-10.. Brian Dillons were deprived of winning the drawn encounter when the referee failed to award a free , in the dying seconds of the game, when Darren McGrath was dragged to the ground , in the "Barrs parallelogram, as he was in possession of the ball. Friday nights game presents Brian Dillons with an opportunity of avenging that result and capturing a much deserved football trophy for the first time since 2004. Fridays game will also, double up as the semi-final of the McSwiney Cup competition. |
