The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Footballers will try again to capture the City Division Junior (A) Football Championship, for the first time since 1998, at Ballinlough on next Sunday morning, 6th October, 2013, when they meet St. Finbarrs , after the sides finished level last Sunday. Brian Dillons were behind, 1-6 to 0-5, at the interval of last weeks encounter but, a spirited second half performance saw them go into a 0-10 to 1-6 lead with six minutes remaining in the game. St.Finbarrs scored their only score of the second half which levelled the scores with three minutes remaining and in the closing few minutes, Brian Dillons had ,at least, three scoring opportunities ,which they squandered with faulty shooting and were denied a definite penalty ,by a weak refereeing decision, in the final seconds of the game.. So, it is back to Ballinlough on next Sunday morning for this eagerly awaited replay and the Brian Dillons Manager, Kieran Hanley, will be hoping that his charges will not be as wasteful with their shooting as they were last week when they were off target on no fewer than thirteen occasions compared to seven for the "Barrs. Throw-in for Sundays game is 11.30am. |
