With the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers already through to the final of the 2012 City Division Championship, this weekend the spotlight switches to the clubs Junior (A) Footballers as they attempt to make further progress in the Championship when they meet St.Nicks in the quarter-final ,at Ballinlough on Saturday evening, 1st September,2012, with a 6.30pm start. With two good victories already in this Championship over Na Piarsaigh and Delanys (after a replay), Brian Dillons will be hoping to maintain the winning sequence with another win over the Blackpool side on Saturday. However, they will have to be at their best if they are to succeed as St. Nicks are renowned Championship battlers. A repeat of the performance against Delanys in the replayed second round game when they cruised to a comfortable 1-13 to 1-5 victory, should be enough to get the Dillons side past this rather difficult hurdle. Best wishes are extended to the players and the management team of Kieran Hanley, Alan Whelan, Tom Browne and Martin McSweeney. It is hoped that the team will receive the same level of support ,from our followers, that the Hurlers got in last weeks game against Nemo. |
