Both our Junior (A) and (B) Hurling teams have important League semi-final games this coming weekend. First in action are our Junior (A) squad who have a City Division Junior Hurling League (1) semi-final date with Na Piarsaigh ,out in Pairc Diolunaigh, on Friday evening, 16th November, 2012, @ 7.30pm. Having come through the ordinary rounds of the League with an unbeaten record, winning eleven games, it is hoped that our side will maintain their winning run, in this competition, with another victory on Friday night. We will be hoping that our side, unlucky losers in the recent County Championship final, can repeat last Sundays performance ,in the McCurtain Cup, when they proved too good for Mayfield.. However, they can expect a tough game from Na Piarsaigh who also had an easy, 1-19 to 0-7, victory over Delanys last weekend, also in the McCurtain Cup. The Brian Dillons second string are in action on Sunday morning, 18th November, when they travel to Whitechurch to take on the home side in the City Division Junior Hurling League (2) semi-final @ 11. 30 am. This game will be a difficult assignment for Brian Dillons as Whitechurch, fielding their first choice panel, are a formidable outfit and they have already recorded a 5-12 to 4-6; over our side in an ordinary League game earlier in the season. However, if our side can repeat the form they displayed in the recent, 0-18 to 0-9, demolition of Mayfield, in the Craobh Ruadh Cup, they could well spring a surprise. |
