Golden Opportunity to Bridge 74 year Gap on Sunday.

posted 17 Oct 2012, 15:27 by Willie Horgan
                          The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers are presented with a golden opportunity of bridging a 74 year old gap when they line out against Kildorrery in next Sundays County Hurling Championship final ,in Pairc Ui Rinn @ 3.45pm.    It was 1938 when Brian Dillons last won that title with a glorious victory over Cloughduv ,out in Coachford .       . Brian Dillons were runners-up to Ballinhassig in the 1965 final, which was played in Carrigaline.     It would mean so much to all the Brian Dillons people to taste success on Sunday and it is hoped that the players will cease the opportunity as they may never get the chance again.
                        The following are the games played this year which gave us the ticket to Sundays final;
                          CITY CHAMPIONSHIP;
                           Round 1; Brian Dillons,2-17; Whites Cross, 1-5;
                            Round 2;  Brian Dillons, 1-15; Douglas, 1-13;
                           Semi-final; Brian Dillons, 2-12; Nemo Rangers, 1-14;
                          Final; Brian Dillons, 1-14; Mayfield, 1-10;
                          COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP;
                           Quarter-final;  Brian Dillons, 1-16; Ballinhassig, 2-6;
                           Semi-final; Brian Dillons, 0-14; Grenagh,0-13;

                    Just one more game to win and we are County Champions.     Go for it,lads.
