Finbarr Triggs.... R.I.P.

posted 10 Oct 2012, 15:27 by Willie Horgan
During the past week we lost one of our former players when Finbarr Triggs passed away on Sunday, 7th October,2012 after a short illness.  Finbarr played both hurling and football at under-age and adult level with Brian Dillons and he was a prominent member of our Junior (A) Football team in the 1960"s, while he played in the final of the 1968 City Division (B) Hurling Championship, drawn game and re-play,
 against Ballyphehane.
Four of Finbarrs six sons have worn the Brian Dillons shirt with distinction and it was a proud day, indeed, for Finbarr when one of his sons, Tom, captained the Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers to victory over Mayfield in the recent City Division Junior (A) Hurling Championship final.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to Finbarrs wife, Kay, daughters, Olwyn and Hazel, sons, Alan,Paul,Robin, Wesley, Tom and Barry.
