The Brian Dillons Junior (A) Hurlers will line -out against Mayfield in the City Division Premier Hurling Championship final, at Ballinlough on Sunday next, 9th September,2012 with a 12.15pm throw-in.  This will be the third season in a row that these sides have met in the Citys showpiece  decider and it is Brian Dillons sixth appearance in the final since 2004.
To reach the 2012 decider,Brian Dillons beat Whites Cross, 2-17 to 1-5, in the opening round and Douglas were overcome, 1-15 to 1-13, in the quarter-final. Nemo Rangers were the semi-final opponents and, after a thrilling game, Brian Dillons emerged victorious by 2-12 to 1-14.
Sundays opponents, Mayfield, are the reigning champions and will be extremely difficult to beat as they attempt to achieve a hat-trick of final victories over our representatives, having coming out on top in the 2010 and 2011 deciders. However, we will be hoping to turn the tables on this occasion and a titanic struggle is anticipated on Sunday, as we attempt to win the title for the first time since 2006 when we beat Sundays opponents, 1-13 to 0-11, after a memorable game.
It is hoped that the Brian Dillons supporters will turn out in large numbers,to cheer on the team, in Sundays game. Our best wishes are extended to the Brian Dillons team and ,also,to Kieran O"Mahony (Team Manager) ,selectors, Dave Downey,Alan O"Sullivan and Kenny Cotter and Trainer, Martin McSweeney.
