2013 Season Begins on Sunday with McSwiney Cup Semi-final.

The 2013 playing season kicks off on next Sunday morning, 13th January 2013, when our Junior"A" Footballers meet Delanys in the semi-final of the 2012 McSwiney Cup competition, at Delanys Ground, Kilbarry, with an 11.30am throw-in.
This competition was not finished in 2012 due to the involvement of our Junior "A" Hurlers in the County Championship final , the County Hurling League, the City Division Hurling League, the McCurtain Cup as well as our Junior "B" Hurlers being involved in the closing stages of the City League (2) and Craobh Ruadh Cup competitions.  Sundays pairing is a repeat of the 2012 City Division Championship 2nd round in which Brian Dillons emerged victorious, 1-13 to 1-5, after a replay. The teams had finished level, 1-10 each, in the drawn encounter.
Sundays game is most difficult to predict as games at this time of the year can go anyway as teams have not yet properly prepared since the Chrismas break.  It will, no doubt, prove to be a tough encounter to win and our players will have had to winter well if they are to be successful.
