The 2013 season gets under way this weekend with the opening rounds of the Football League down for decision.
First into action are our Minor fooballers who travel across the City to take on Ballyphehane in the Minor Football League ,on Saturday afternoon,at The Green with a 2.00pm throw-in. Our side will be mainly a young outfit this season as most of last years team are over the age limit. However, we can still call on strong players such as Darren McGrath, who figured prominently with Col.Chriost Ri in the recent Corn UI Mhuiri, Eric O"Donoghue, John Kenny, Mark Kelly,Keith McCormick and Ryan Burns.
On Sunday morning, there is a double bill at the Tank Field with both our Junior football teams in action. To open the proceedings our "A" side are in opposition against St.Finbarrs at 11.00 am. This will be a difficult game for our representatives as they will not be in a position to field a full strength side due to injuries etc. However, with home advantage, the Brian Dillons team could quite easily come out on top in this game.
The second game at the Tank Field. on Sunday morning, has our second string Junior football team in action against Douglas , with a 12.15 pm throw -in. This is also a tough opener for our representatives and ,only a top class performance will suffice if we are to succeed.
