Our U18 team are now on a three match winning streak following an impressive win against Eire Og at the Tank Field on Sunday March 31. The game was played in atrocious weather conditions on a very heavy pitch. This was our second match in two days but all these circumstances didn't hinder this team from producing yet another incredible team performance to blow Eire Og away with our commitment and determination. Rachel Carroll scored a great point to put us ahead. Essie O Connell continued her good form and scored another great point. Jessica Aghbaloga then scored two goals in a minute to put us in control. Emma Sharpe then put over a 45. H.T score was 2-3 to no score. Second half points from Essie again and two from Lauren Barry made the final score 2-6 to no score. Our defence were superb with Deirdre Keane excellent at corner back. Stephanie Mangan covered a lot of ground at half back. Emma Sharpe was rock solid as usual and at half forward Rachel Carroll ran herself in to the ground. There wasn't one player complaining about being tired or injured after a tough weekend. All the hard training over the past two months is clearly paying dividends. |
