Our Minor team came up short in a tremendous league match against Kilbrittan at the Tank. We lost by three points but we had more than enough chances to win the game and against a quality Kilbrittan team that's encouraging. Against the wind we started really well. Two points each from Sinead and Shauna and one from Essie made it five points without reply. Then within a five minute spell we conceded 2-2 which hurt us badly. Two more points from Sinead and Lauren followed before Kilbriitan got a point from a free. H.T score was 0-7 to 2-3. An early goal in the second half from Kate and a point from Shauna put us ahead. We conceded 2-2 in the second half and despite adding on points from Shauna and Sinead again, it wasn't enough. F.T score 1-11 to 4-5. This is tough league and despite the defeat there are lots of positives. We are competing really well but we must take our chances when they come along. Also, we look very strong around the centre of the field. Essie, Shauna, Steph and Sinead are flying at the moment and they are driving us on. Our game next Sunday against Cloughduv now takes on more importance to qualify for the semis. |
