Dillons U15 team won the Seandun Shield final today and they won it in style. A fantastic team performance  which was full of controlled aggression, attitude and work rate. Bishopstown couldn't cope with our fitness, physicality and skill. Played in tough conditions we went a point down after eight minutes from a free. Emma levelled the score soon after with a great point from play. Bishopstown put over another free before Shannyn scored from a 45. H.T score 0-2 each. We had the wind in the second half but the wind never won a game. We had to remain focussed and you could see Dillons were determined not to let it go. Bishopstown put over another free to go one up. The game was very tight and there was a great battle all over the pitch. Shannyn levelled it from another 45 and from then on we were dominant. Kate got a goal and Emma got another soon after. Then we played our trump card, Olivia came on as a sub and we never looked back. She got a goal within minutes and Bishopstown were dead. Then came the score of the match. Kate cleared a ball from our own box, drove it to Anna down the line, Anna drove it on to Olivia who popped it over from 40 metres. It was pure class. Final score 3-4 to 0-3. It was no more than we deserved, the eight months of training paid off. Captain Shannyn accepted the shield and spoke with pride. Abbey was brilliant in goal. Our full back line of Eve, Jasmine and Mary were solid. Our Half backs were outstanding, Rebecca, Michaela and Molly. In midfield Kate and Shannyn were awesome. Our half forwards of Anna, Hannah and Emma were amazing and our full forwards of Ria, Megan and Katie worked really hard. Our subs of Olivia and Aoife were excellent when brought on. The Player of the match went to Molly who was quite simply magic. The team went back to the club where we had great craic. Captain Shannyn said " We have come a long way from the start of the season. Coach Dave made a great impact on this team. He trained us to become better players but in the end he just made us a better team." This team are a great bunch of girls whose behaviour on and off the pitch is top class. Coaches Dave, Gillian and Stephen along with everyone in the club are immensely proud of them.  Dillons Abu.
