Our U14 team travelled to Clonakilty to take part in the Feile on Sunday April 27 and performed really well. The games were 15 minutes a side. We had three games, the first of which was against Clonakilty. It was a very close contest from start to finish. At H.T there was no score. Emma Bradfield and Molly Garvin were excellent. In the second half Clonakilty scored a goal but we stuck in there and scored a deserved equaliser with a great goal from Anna Myers. F.T score 1-0 to 1-0. Our second game was against a very skilful Douglas team. Douglas won comfortably 4-7 to 1-1. Anna scoring our 1-1. The scoreline didn't reflect the game, we had more than enough chances to win it. Shannon McHale, Kate O Connell and Makela Broe were outstanding. Our third and final game was against Cloughduv. Again this was a very close contest. At H.T there was no score. Then up stepped Alannah Garvin who scored two goals in two minutes. Cloughduv scored 1-2 before Anna put over a lovely point to secure victory. F.T score 2-1 to 1-2. Abbey O Farell and Eve O Connor were solid in defence. So overall a great display by this team with a draw, a loss and a win. Their coaches Niamh and Linda were very proud of the way the girls performed. The day finished with a trip to McDonalds and a birthday cake for Anna to celebrate her 13th birthday. |
