U14's Defeated in Clon

posted 28 May 2014, 00:20 by Tom Myers
Our U14 team were defeated away to Clonakilty on Tuesday May 27th. However, as usual they put in a great performance. Clon scored two first half goals before Anna Myers scored a goal directly from a free from 40 metres out. Emma Bradfield was excellent at corner back in the first half. Clon scored a point from a soft free before Alice O Connor got a goal back for us to put within a point. We were playing really well at this time. Shannon McHale at centre back showed her class and Alannah Garvin who was moved to the half back line was rock solid. Clon scored two late goals again from soft frees to win out on a scoreline of 4-1 to 2-0. Eve O Connor at fullback had a great game and Chloe Ahern at wing forward put in a good shift. Despite the defeat this was a great performance against a very skillful Clon side when you consider we were without Kate O Connell and Molly Garvin who are both influencial players in our team.
