Replay Required for Final Spot.

Dillons and Enniskeane have to do it all over once again following a nail biting draw in the semi final of the Intermediate Championship. Enniskeane scored a last minute goal to level the match at 1-8 each to force a replay. The match was played at Cloughduv on September 6th in perfect conditions and on a great pitch. Having been five points up at H.T it's disappointing not to have seen the game out but credit to Enniskeane who put in a great second half. However once again our work rate and determination was superb. We started well with points from Claire Dooley X2, Lauren Barry and Shauna Cronin. Jane Dooley got a goal and Essie O Connell scored two points, one from a 45 and one from a free. In reply Enniskeane scored four points, three from frees and one from play. H.T score 1-6 to 0-4. Ruth Brosnan was introduced for Orla Ni Shuallabhain. In the second half we didn't t play to our potential but we fought hard for every ball. Alison Smith in particular was inspirational at wing back. Shauna Walsh in goal also made a number of great saves. Enniskeane scored the first two points in the second half and had the momentum. Claire Dolley put over a point for us followed by a point from a free from Essie. Enniskeane scored two more points to leave just a goal between the teams. With time almost up Enniskeane got a free which they lobbed in to the square and somehow it ended up in the net. The match was tied at 1-8 each and the ref blew up almost immediately. Great commitment from both sides added to a very exciting game. Both teams could have won it and a replay is deserved. Date and location to be confirmed.
