Minors March On.

Our Minor Team had an impressive championship quarter final win today against Kilbrittan at the Tank. Our work rate and commitment was superb in all areas of the pitch. Captain Emma Sharpe had her team well pumped up for this one. We played against a strong wind in the first half and Linda's tactics worked really well. Stephanie was brought in to midfield to support  Shauna and Ruth which Kilbrittan found hard to cope with. Sinead got two nice points and in reply Kilbrittan got two points, one from play and the other from a free on the stroke of H.T. Stephanie was outstanding, Alison worked really hard and Emma cleaned up at centre back. We had a strong wind in the second half and once again we changed our tactics. Despite Kilbrittan scoring the first point of the second half, we lifted a gear and in truth Kilbrittan couldn't cope with our passion, pace and execution. Caoimhe put over a 45 and a free before Ruth got a lovely point from play. Then Shauna scored a point which was pure class. Lauren used her pace well and scored a deserved point. Sinead's all round play today was top class and she put over another point before Caoimhe put over another 45. Ruth got her second point late on to ensure a comfortable win 0-10 to 0-03. Essie had a great second half and Shauna on goal is on top form and full of confidence. A really great team performance and a well deserved victory. Roll on the semi final.
