Our Minors were beaten by Killeagh in the league semi final played at Castle Road on Sunday April 19th. The final score of 2-4 to 5-5 was not a true reflection of the game. We were well in the game going in to the last ten minutes but conceding soft goals was our downfall. We started brightly with points from Lauren X2, Shauna and Rachel. Then Shauna scored a goal for us to go in the H.T break level at 1-4 each. We conceded 4-1 in the second half and that was too much for us. We showed character to stay with Killeagh particularly when Essie blasted to the net following quick thinking by Sinead. We gave it everything and we will take this defeat on the chin. Killeagh are a good side and best wishes to them in the final. Caroline and Shannyn were fantastic today and Shauna was different class. Minor A is very strong and this game will certainly stand to us in the future. |
