Our intermediate team have reached the league final following a tremendous win over Sars last night at Castle Road. From the start Dillons were very sharp. With the aide of the breeze points from Therese Drummond, Jane Dooley, two from Claire Dooley and a goal from Shauna Ring put Dillons ahead at half time on a score line of 1-4 to 0-3. Sars had the advantage of the strengthening wind in the second half however Dillons were excellent in all areas of the pitch. Two goals from Caoimhe Rogers, points from Therese Drummond and Claire Dooley and another goal from Shauna Ring was enough to beat a very good Sars team on a score line of 4-6 to 2-6. The second half was not short of incidents. Therese had a penalty saved and Emer Keane was sent off late in the game following two yellow cards. This was an excellent result for us and the league final awaits. A great team performance on the night particularly Caroline Craugh in defence and Shauna Ring at corner forward. |
