Our Intermediate team continued their winning run with a comprehensive win over Tracton in the league. The match was played at the Tank field on Monday May 5th. In the first half we didn't play to our best. We gave away two soft goals to Tracton and they added on four points, two from play and two from frees. In response we scored two goals from Caoimhe Rodgers and Susan Kate Brosnan and two points from Sinead Mills and one from Caoimhe. At H.T we were a point down at 2-3 to 2-4. The team were very flat, we needed to up the tempo. The one positive was the performance of Susan Kate in midfield, she was superb. Linda demanded more effort and passion in the second half, and we got it. The entire team upped their game, we were more aggressive in the breakdown and we blew Tracton away. Niamh O Leary at full back, Emma Burns at wing back and Orla Ni Shuallabhain at wing forward were excellent. Shauna Cronin had more influence in midfield. We scored 5-2 in the second half and kept Tracton scoreless. Final score 7-5 to 2-4. That was a great effort. Our goals came from Shauna Cronin, Orla Ni Shuallabhain, Susan Kate, Essie O Connell and Therese Deane. We were able to run the entire bench also which was another positive. This is our second win on the bounce and scoring 7-5 in any match is impressive.
