Our Intermediate team had an impressive win away to Newcestown on Sunday May 11th. We dominated in all sectors of the field from start to finish and Newcestown had no answer to us. Final score was 4-11 to 0-1. What caught the eye was our players calling for the ball, the quality of passing and the execution of some quality scores. Sarah Cotter at corner back was solid, Orla Ni Shuallabhain had a great first half at wing forward and both Dooley's were in great form in front of goal. Goals came from Jane Dooley, Caoimhe Rodgers and two from Claire Dooley. Sinead Mills had her usual influence on the game in midfield and Susan Kate scored two great point in the second half. Rebecca O Mahony also scored a great point late on. Therese Deane and Caroline Craugh worked really hard. There was great teamwork in this performace. We took the opportunity to run the bench again and it is clearly evident that there is strong competition for places in this team. The management team are watching the effort put in by all players at training. We had a job to do against Newcestown and did it well, but no room for complacency. There are tougher battles ahead.
